Bilaspur
1. Sri Naina Devi Ji Temple

Overview: Mata Naina Devi Temple is a grand temple located in Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh, which is included in the 51 Shaktipeeths of Mata Sati. This temple is situated on the hills of Shivalik mountain range at an altitude of about 1100 meters. The eyes of Mother Sati had fallen here, due to which this temple is known as Naina Devi. A big fair is organized here during Nanda Ashtami, where a large number of devotees come for darshan. In the last days of this fair, the idol immersion ceremony is also celebrated with Nanda Devi\'s sister Naini Devi. There are two routes to reach the temple – one route consists of 540 steps, while the other route requires devotees to climb 200 steps. Ropeway facility is also available here, the charge for which is around Rs 200 per person. After the darshan of the Mata, devotees circumambulate the temple and can see the havan going on in the havan kund. There are also temples of Lord Ganesha and Kaal Bhairav ​​in the temple complex, without whose darshan the journey is considered incomplete.

2. Gobind Sagar Lake

Overview: Govind Sagar Lake is an important reservoir located in the Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh, named after the tenth Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh. This lake came into existence due to the construction of Bhakra Dam on the Sutlej River and has a special place on the map of India. 4. Bandla Hill Top

5. Laxmi Narayan Mandir

Overview: Lakshmi Narayan Temple is a historical and religious site located in Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh. This temple is located near Bilaspur Bus Stand and is architecturally built in Shikhar style. Here Lord Vishnu is worshiped along with his wife Lakshmi, and apart from this, idols of many other deities like Lord Ranganath Ji, Maa Durga and Baba Bengali are also installed in the temple. This temple not only holds religious significance, but it\'s unique craftsmanship and pure environment attracts attraction. Major festivals like Janmashtami and Shivratri are celebrated here every year, in which thousands of people participate. Earlier this temple was located in Old Bilaspur, but after the construction of Bhakra Dam it was shifted here. There is also a statue of Ranganath ji near this temple, due to which it is also called Ranganath temple. 6. Rukmani Kund

Overview: Rukhmani Kund, which is located about 28-29 km from Sal, a small village in Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh, has become a center of faith not only for the local people but also for the neighboring districts. This place is situated amidst the hilly terrain in the form of a reservoir, and the story associated with it is very interesting and mysterious. According to the story, in ancient times, when there was a severe water shortage in the region, the king saw a dream, in which he was ordered to sacrifice either his eldest son or daughter-in-law in order to resolve the water crisis. Rukmani, who was the king\'s daughter-in-law, decided to offer herself for the sacrifice despite being pregnant. It is said that when Rukmani was sacrificed, a stream of milk started flowing from her body, which later turned into a stream of water and Rukmani Kund was formed at the same place. Even today the thirst of many villages is quenched with this water. Rukmani\'s son, who is said to have also died in separation from his mother, now roams near the pond as a \'sahib\' and only a lucky few are able to see him. People take a dip of faith at this place and bathing is believed to provide relief from skin diseases. The road to reach Rukhmani Kund is a bit inaccessible, but the scenic views and peaceful environment make it an attractive tourist destination. A fair and lion is also organized here every year during Baisakhi, which further enhances the religious and cultural importance of this place.

7. NB Waterfall

Overview: Niko Baba, also known as Baba Nikku Dev, was a famous saint and miraculous man from Himachal Pradesh. He was born in a Dalit family situated on the banks of Patel River in the 19th century. Since childhood, he had religious inclinations and it was his habit to live among sages and saints. Baba did not marry and attained Siddhi in his youth. He believed that serving animals was the real religion, and he was always engaged in the service of cows, goats, and other animals. Baba saw many miraculous incidents happen in his life, one of the famous incidents was when he fed sugar to the fishes. This miracle became famous throughout the village. According to another miracle of Baba, once his buffalo was saved with the help of Baba after falling from a river, due to which his divine form and siddhis became famous among the people. Additionally, there is also a lake and temple in the name of Baba Nikku, which are symbols of his devotion and miraculous powers. Even today people come to this temple and seek blessings for the fulfillment of their wishes. Even after his death, incidents of sightings of his soul are prevalent, leading to the belief that Baba\'s miraculous influence continues even after death.  

Best time to visit: The best time to visit Nikko Baba\'s Temple and Waterfall in Himachal Pradesh is generally during the summer months from March to June.

8. Kandrour Bridge

Overview: Kandaur Bridge, one of the tallest bridges in Asia. It is located between Bilaspur and Kanderi and is a part of National Highway 88. The construction work for the bridge began in the 1959, and was completed in 1965. The bridge stands at an impressive height of 80 meters above the Sutlej River, making it one of the highest bridges in Asia. The length of the bridge is 280 meters. Over time, the surrounding area has undergone significant changes, and today the bridge is surrounded by modern developments, whereas earlier it was located in a more open space.

Best time to visit: The best time to visit Kandrour Bridge is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) months.

9. Koldam Dam

Overview: Koldam Dam is a major hydropower project located between Bilaspur and Mandi districts of Himachal Pradesh. The construction process of this dam started in 1960, when its plan was prepared. A report of 600 MW power generation was prepared in 1975, but the project stalled due to lack of finance. Renovation of the project was initiated by NTPC in 2000, and construction began in 2004. Koldam Dam has a height of 167 meters (548 ft) and a length of 474 meters (1555 ft), and has a power generation capacity of 800 MW. There were many advantages and disadvantages after its construction. While the project economically benefited nearby villages, many villages were submerged under water and some historic water sources were also lost. Today Koldam Dam is not only an energy source but has also become a major tourist destination, where people can enjoy activities like rafting, boating and swimming. If you want to visit this beautiful place, then you can reach Koldam Dam by covering a distance of about 18 kilometers from Bilaspur district located between Chandigarh and Manali.

10. Vyas Cave

Overview: Vyas Cave is a historical place of Bilaspur, which is associated with Maharishi Vedvyas ji, the author of Mahabharata. Earlier it was known as Vyaspur, but with time the name changed to Bilaspur. The importance of this cave is not only religious, but it is also a historical heritage, where the Pandavas themselves created and installed the idols. As soon as one enters the cave, one experiences peace and positive energy, which even today makes one feel the imprint of Maharishi Vedvyas ji\'s penance and power. 1. Dalhousie

4. Manimahesh Lake

In Hinduism, Mani Mahesh Lake is considered very sacred. It is located near the home of Lord Shiva, Mount Kailash. 6. Laxmi Narayan Mandir

8. Bhuri Singh Museum

10. Champavati Mandir 

Overview: The Champawati Temple is one of the important temples in Chamba and is dedicated to the Devi cult. It is located in the heart of Chamba town, near Jugaan, and can be reached by a narrow lane with a few steps. The temple is close to the Hotel City Heart. The temple faces east, but the entrance is at the back. It is said to have been built by King Sahil Varman, who ruled Chamba and was part of the Suryavanshi (solar) dynasty, meaning he believed he was descended from the Sun God, Surya. While the rulers of Chamba followed Vaishnavism (worship of Vishnu), they were also supportive of other faiths like Shaivism (worship of Shiva), Sun worship, and Shakti (the goddess\'s power). Because of this, the Chamba kings built several temples for various gods and goddesses. The Champawati Temple is special because it is dedicated to the goddess Champavati, who is believed to have been the daughter of King Sahil Varman. The temple was named after her, and she is now worshipped as a goddess. According to a local legend, King Sahil Varman founded the town of Chamba and named it after his daughter. The temple was considered the Kuldevi (family goddess) temple, and it was customary for the king to visit this temple daily as part of a rotation of temples. The temple was built by King Sahil Varman and is considered the third and last monument he created in Chamba. While it was likely in existence before his reign, it was formally established during his time. The original structure may have been a wooden temple, and later, part of it was replaced to make space for newer temples. The Champawati Temple follows the Nagara style of architecture, similar to the Harirai Temple. It has a wooden structure known as the Mandup in front, which is wider than the main temple. The Mandup is decorated with wooden carvings, some of which are still intact. Inside the temple, the goddess Champavati is depicted as Durga, with eight arms, slaying the demon Mahishasura. The temple’s sanctum is simple and dark, with a recent brass mask of the goddess, beneath which lies the centuries-old image of the goddess. The temple compound also contains two smaller chapels: one dedicated to Mahishasurmardini (Durga) and the other to Vasuki Naga (the serpent god). The carvings on the temple walls and the doorway are intricate and feature many divine figures and scenes.

11. Chowgan (Chamba\'s Heart)

12. Chamunda Devi Temple

Overview: The Shri Chamunda Devi Temple is one of the main religious places in Chamba. It is located about 15 kilometers from the Chamba city. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Chamunda, who is considered a form of Durga and a goddess of power (Shakti). The temple was built by King Uma in the year 1762. This temple is famous for its religious importance and beautiful architecture, making it a popular spot for both devotees and tourists. The temple\'s construction dates back to the 18th century, and it is believed that the goddess here is very powerful and fulfills all the wishes related to strength. Special prayers and fairs are held here during Navratri, and many people from far and wide come to participate. The architecture of the temple is very attractive, following the Himachali style. 13. Bhalei Mata Temple

Overview: Bhalei Mata Temple is a famous religious place located in Chamba district, Himachal Pradesh. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali, who is an incarnation of Goddess Durga. 2. Gurudwara Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji

Overview: Gurudwara Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji it is about 336 years old and houses a famous 19 kg, 7-foot long cannon that still exists here.
